  • Guests take turns providing the appetizers, salad, and dessert.
  • The host provides the entrée, beverages and any part of the meal not being provided by the guests.
  • There are usually 4 couple/singles per rotation. They take turns hosting the group in their homes once per 4-month rotation.

  • Each couple/single takes a turn as the host once in each 4-month rotation.
  • The host chooses the restaurant and coordinates the date with the group. He/she makes dinner reservations, if necessary.
  • The host also provides appetizers and beverages before dinner - or dessert with beverages after dinner in their home.

Wine Tasting Groups

  • There are two wine tasting groups:
    • Happy Hour Wine Tasting - a casual get together with wine and appetizers.
    • Wine Pairing - a full dinner with wine for each course.

Happy Hour Wine Tasting: An opportunity to get to know each other while experiencing the pleasures of wine tasting. Certainly, learning about wines is one of the goals, but that is secondary to the primary experience of fun and fellowship.

  • You'll find the essence of Kenmure Newcomers & Neighbors in this meet and greet activity for anyone interested in a casual get-together.
  • This activity is all about being with neighbors in an informal, easy and fun atmosphere. You don't have to be a wine connoisseur or a gourmet cook to enjoy Happy Hour Wine Tasting.

The groups will take turns meeting at each other’s homes once a month from 5 - 7 pm. The recommended menu is easy and simple appetizers supplied by each participant and wine supplied by the host. You can take advantage of the local wine shops to guide you in your selections.

Join us when selecting your activities for the October thru January rotation. For more information, contact Suzy and Hugh Jones at 698-7522.

Wine Pairing brings together amiable people who enjoy and care about wine and its interplay with food.
  • Participants meet in each other’s homes once a month.
  • Each participating couple or single hosts once during the four month rotation.
  • Every month each couple or single will be assigned to bring one course (appetizer, first course, main course, or dessert) PLUS an appropriate wine to pair with the dish they have prepared.
  • Typically, the host provides the main course.
  • The assignments change each successive month of the rotation.
  • The price point of the wines will be left to each participant, although a range of $10 to $25 is suggested.

Even if you don’t know the first thing about how to choose a wine, any reputable wine shop will be happy to help, and remember – you will only need to provide one dish and one bottle of wine per month!
